Weekend Girl Road Trip Rendezvous: Three Besties, 40 Years of
Friendship, and an Epic Adventure to Mobile, Alabama
Sometimes, all it takes is a good road trip to remind you of the importance of friendship, fun, and a little spontaneity. Our Weekend Girl Road Trip Rendezvous was the perfect getaway for three women who have been friends for over 40 years—each of us in our 50s, still living life and loving every moment.
Our destination? Mobile, Alabama, with a few exciting pit stops along the way. Buckle up and follow along as we take you on a journey filled with shopping, delicious food, relaxation, and dancing the night away.
First Stop: Gulfport, Mississippi – Outlet Shopping and Lunch
Of course, no road trip is complete without a little retail therapy! We pulled into Gulfport,
Mississippi, to explore the Gulfport Premium Outlets. Between laughing, reminiscing, and
catching up on life, we snagged a few bargains. It’s not every day you get to shop with your best friends, so we made sure to take our time strolling through the stores, soaking up the
experience.
Shopping worked up quite an appetite, so we made our way to MoJeaux's for a laid-back lunch. The food hit the spot—good ole Southern comfort dishes that fueled us for the rest of the day. A perfect pit stop before heading to Mobile.
Checking In: The Renaissance Hotel in Mobile
Once we arrived in Mobile, it was time to check into the stunning Renaissance Hotel. The
hotel’s beautiful ambiance and luxurious rooms were exactly what we needed to relax and
refresh. After settling in, we indulged in something we never take for granted—a quick nap!
There’s something magical about sneaking in a little rest after a day of traveling and shopping, especially with the excitement of the night ahead.
Dinner Cruise: VIP Style on the Perdido Queen
The evening was a dream! We walked over to the pier, dressed up and ready to board the
Perdido Queen for a VIP dinner cruise. The view was breathtaking as we sailed along the
beautiful waters of Mobile Bay. A fantastic meal awaited us on board, and we savored every
bite. But the real fun began when the live band started playing, and we hit the dance floor.
Dancing, laughing, and feeling the music—just three lifelong friends letting loose under the
stars. The cruise was the perfect mix of elegance and fun, and it’s an experience we won’t soon forget. The cool breeze of the bay and the rhythmic sway of the water set the scene for an unforgettable night.
Sunday Morning: Sleep In, Moonshine, and Moo Moos
After such an eventful night, Sunday morning was for sleeping in—no alarms, no rush. We woke up at our own pace, and what’s a leisurely morning without a little bit of fun? We decided to try a local favorite—moonshine, and yes, we sipped it in our moo moos, feeling like queens. It was the perfect way to ease into our last day of the trip, with plenty of laughs and “cheers” to lifelong friendship.
Lunch at Cozy Brown & Sons Kitchen: Food for the Soul!
Before heading back to Baton Rouge (aka The Red Stick), we made one final stop at Cozy
Brown & Sons Kitchen. Let me tell you—this food spoke to our souls. The kind of meal that feels like home with every bite. From the tender oxtails to the cornbread dressing that tasted like it came straight from our grandma’s kitchen, it was the perfect ending to a perfect trip. If you’re ever in the area, Cozy Brown & Sons is worth the stop.
Heading Back Home With our bellies full and hearts fuller, we hit the road back to Baton Rouge, replaying the memories we’d just made. This Weekend Girl Road Trip Rendezvous reminded us that age is just a number, and good friends and adventures are forever.
If you’re looking for a trip filled with laughter, dancing, and moments that remind you of the
power of friendship, Mobile, Alabama, should be on your list. We can’t wait for our next journey
together, and we hope this inspires you to grab your besties and hit the road too!
Until next time, ladies! #WeekendGirlAdventures #RoadTripVibes #FriendshipGoals
